Ownership 

Nassif family solely owned the store from inception to 1986. Mark Wheeler became 50% owner in 1986 with Allen Nassif. Mark Wheeler becomes sole owner, November 1997. 

About The Owner

Mark Wheeler, born in Pittsfield, 1951. Educated at local schools, including Cranwell, Lenox. Pharmacy degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Boston, 1976. 50% ownership of Nassif's in 1986. Sole owner as of November 1997. 

Recent Improvements To The Business

June 1992 - Addition of Nassif's Home Health Care, a full service home medical equipment provider. Adds 2 positions immediately, 2 additional by 1998. 

April 1995 - Complete store remodel, doubling size of pharmacy area and adding a compounding lab featuring a sterile flow hood.  Approximate cost is $180,000. 

Fall 2000 - Addition of 1500-gallon liquid oxygen storage tank (16 feet tall by 9 feet in diameter), and liquid to compressed gas oxygen transfill system.  Nassif's becomes the ONLY compressed gas oxygen refiller in Berkshire County.  An important part of the improvement is FDA Licensure, a lengthy and involved task. 

Winter 2001 - Home Health Care services extended to Pittsfield area, largely due to savings and increased competitiveness of oxygen pricing and availability. 

Spring 2003 - Institutional care services added to better assist customers located in nursing and rest homes.  Service area reaches from central Berkshire county (Lee, Lenox, to Brattleboro, Vt and Greenfield, MA. 

Services Available

• Full service pharmacy, offering retail, institutional and home infusion services and free prescription delivery to the North Berkshire communities of North Adams, Adams, Clarksburg and Williamstown. 
  
• Natural Health Care products including herbs and supplements, teas, and homeopathic remedies. 
  
• Full service home medical equipment provider to  North and Central Berkshire county.  Products available include hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, canes and accessories, and bathroom supplies. 
  
• FDA licensed supplier of medical oxygen, liquid and compressed.  All services and sizes are available to Berkshire County businesses, including hospitals, nursing homes, emergency services and residential customers.
